 When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. At least that’s the approach this NH Made member took when given the chance to merge an old hobby with her career to create something new. 

GeoGraphic Gems: Owner's Career is a Real Page Turner

 MARCIA PASSOS enjoys interacting with potential customers at craft shows. “People come up to my booth, and they ask, ‘Do you have one with a purple stone?’ When I tell them what the jewelry is made of, their jaws drop.”

Passos-Duffy, of Keene, is having a second career while she’s still in her first. The journalist and editor is also the creator of Geo-Graphic Gems, a line of jewelry made of vintage National Geographic pages. The creations keep the magazines out of the waste stream while beautifying clients’ necks, wrists and earlobes. They’re easy on the eyes and on the wallet. Read on.
